How To: See All Your Published Posts That Got Flagged

flight-of-the-felix:

Hi Tumblr, I’m back with another script after last night. This time it comes with actual instructions :P I recorded a demo video of the script running. It’s available here: https://flight-of-the-felix.tumblr.com/post/180811718885/demo-for-the-tumblr-flagging-tester

For those familiar with Tampermonkey/Greasemonkey, this is a known process. If not, follow these steps:

1. Install the tampermonkey browser extension via the official site.
2. Click the toolbar button, press Dashboard.
3. From the Dashboard, press the plus sign in the horizontal toolbar.
4. Replace all text in the editor with the code of the script, available here: https://gist.githubusercontent.com/boisei0/2ea7d7145d04a1cc5864d316271d09fd/raw/cdc766443dd32ee545c4feb41510a9abd210748b/tumblr_flagging_score_checker.js
5. Click File -> Save. The script should now enable itself.
6. Close the tab with the editor.
7. Open a new tab with the Tumblr dashboard: https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard and wait until the script is fully loaded and the black-with-white box is displayed.
8. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Since this script will now run every time you open the tumblr dashboard, disable it again after usage: With the dashboard open, click the toolbar button for Tampermonkey. Now click the switch to disable the “tumblr score checker 2.0” again.

As for those wondering about “what am I going to run on my tumblr, is it even save?”, if you would like to feel free to check the code, but what it does is get the so called “form key” from the page (tumblr uses it internally to communicate between pages, e.g. xkit uses it too). Next, this form key is used in combination with the part of the server that loads blogs in the sidebar view. The loading code returned by the server has information about whether or not posts are flagged, and a lot of extra information.

Also feel free to spread this script around :)

taxonomist replied to your post “i like the idea of everyone going over to dreamwidth because i miss…”

twitter could use some more dog updates, just sayin’

oh yeah, i guess if any mutuals want to be pals offsite then twitter is my intermittent low-effort mumblezone, it’s locked but just let me know who you are and i’ll add you

nate sleeps a lot these days so whenever i’m online just assume that there’s a fat greying staffy conked out snoring next to me

apparently the pinboard guy is floating the idea of making a replacement platform and uhhhhh i am extremely dubious

pinboard itself works great! mostly! but as soon as you need customer support, good fucking luck

a while back i needed a username change, so emailed support like you’re supposed to. nothing for weeks. emailed again. nothing for weeks. got on twitter, asked for a response. got “omg i’m so sorry! i’ll get right on that!”. nothing for weeks. tweeted again. got the same response. eventually it got done after… i think four months? of asking every few weeks… but then the archive function stopped working, and it was back on the fucking support email merry-go-round again

and i know this wasn’t just me, because the pinboard twitter mentions were chock full of people asking about refund requests they’d asked for months ago, complaining that their autorenew had rolled over despite them cancelling it way in advance, saying that their archiving had stopped, and generally trying to follow up on support requests that never got responded to

meanwhile the dude himself was merrily tweeting away about politics day in day out

and i can see that nothing’s changed because if you look at the mentions, there’s still people tweeting at him trying to get weeks-old support requests dealt with, without any response

pinboard is great and all but it’s a one-man project, and trying to get that one man to actually deal with support issues is like pulling fucking teeth

earthstory:

I have had 3 mineral posts flagged as adult content today. They contained a tourmaline, a muscovite, and a galena. On Friday I had 3 fossil posts flagged as adult content, including a fossil fish, a fossil tooth from a mastodon, and a Tyrannosaur vertebrae. I’ve submitted appeals for each. This has been getting worse over the past month, apparently most of geology content is now only for adults.

Apparently you can’t get your rocks off on Tumblr anymore.

i am contractually obligated to congratulate you on this reply
